Venues: Georgia Tech Campus Recreation Center (CRC)

CRC

The CRC is the main venue for robot competitions. map

As part of the plan to make RoboCup 2007 a unique college campus event, Georgia Tech's Campus Recreation Center will be used as the main venue for most RoboCup events. The Campus Recreation Center (CRC) was completed in August of 2004 and is rated one of the best in the nation.

This venue also has historic value; it is a unique expansion of the aquatic venue that was built for the 1996 Olympics. The CRC is very close to the dormitories on west campus. The H2O Cafe provides snacks and quick meals.

The fourth floor of the CRC will be the main location for most leagues. It holds six full-size basketball courts and an upper-level running track that surrounds the courts. Spectators will be able to watch the competition from above.

The site will be entirely reconfigured to make RoboCup 2007 a memorable event.

Leagues at this location will include Small-Size League, Middle-Size League, Humanoid League, Rescue Robot League, RoboCup@Home, and RoboCupJunior Soccer.

Venues: Technology Square Research Building (TSRB)

TSRB

TSRB is the main venue for simulation events. map

The Tech Square Research Building is a part of Technology Square, a center for innovative research and various conferences throughout the year. It is across the street from the Georgia Tech hotel.

The TSRB is home to more than 500 world class researchers and houses the Georgia Electronic Design Center (GEDC), the Graphics, Visualization and Usability (GVU) Center and the Center for Research on Embedded Systems and Technologies (CREST). The Center for Robotics and Intelligent Machines at Georgia Tech (RIM@GT) is also located here.

This building was the main venue for the Robocup 2006 US event. It will be used for simulation events. Soccer and Rescue Simulation Leagues, the Physical Visualization League, and the Nanogram Class Demonstration Competition will be held at this location. Throughout the week, the TSRB will also be one of the demonstration locations for robotics research at Georgia Tech.
